Farm Life from Best Creation

When Karen got the "Farm Life" paper by Best Creation into the store, I was excited to use it! I definitely have enough farm photos to create a variety of layouts.

First, I'll share the cards. I enjoyed mixing small bits of the pattern paper with solid color cardstock. When you use such small amounts of the pattern paper, you can make a whole lot of cards with one sheet of your favorite pattern!

 

For one of my layouts I used the project life page protectors with 9 4x4 squares-- it was a very easy way to slip some photos and pattern paper and build a simple yet creative layout.

 

And my second layout was simpler... I used a polkadot pattern paper and cut a creative edge to make it unique.  I printed an 8x10 photo but trimmed it to a 6x10 to give it a longer rectangle shape for the layout.

Bo Bunny - Trail Mix

Being an outdoor family, I take lots of camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, and just general outdoor pictures. This new line from Bo Bunny, called Trail Mix, is the perfect line to use with all my outdoorsy photos. It has a soft vintage look and feel. I love all the muted earthy tones. Bo Bunny has hit it out of the park again!

There is a good selection of cut-outs for the Trail Mix line, called Noteworthy Journaling Cards make it easy to simply stick on the page. No muss, no fuss! I used dimensional dots to add dimension to the title, journaling square, fish, and the two tags at the bottom right.

This line also has whimsical birds and colors that lend themselves to either gender.

Father's Day is almost here, and this line is perfect to use for those Father's Day cards and mini albums!

Bo Bunny Prairie Chic

I got to use some more amazing Bo Bunny products recently. This time it was their Prairie Chic line. Oh Bo Bunny how do I love thee. Let me count the ways! 1 - wonderfully colorful double-sided paper, 2 - card stock stickers, 3 - dimensional stickers, 4 - petals, and 5 - stamps.

I love the card stock stickers, especially the little square alphabets. I like that they are understated and that the sheet comes with so many of them.

I also used these stitches rubons from Studio112. They are easy to use and enhance the whimsical style.

The Bo Bunny stickers make creating a layout quick and easy, and again, the rub-on stitches just add that special touch.

For this 8x8 layout I used all the fun paper, stickers, and petals that I used on my other layouts, plus I used some of my favorite new texture stamps, also from Bo Bunny.

The variety of patterns in this collection offer endless options for cards that you can make for just about anyone, and the dimensional stickers coordinate perfectly!

Crazy Over Authentique!

I am super excited to share my projects from my Authentique kit! I absolutely LOVE this line. The paper is 2-sided so I was able to use lots of different patterns. I used sheets of patterned paper from the "Original" and "Genuine" line which actually coordinated really well together.

This first layout I used an exacto knife to cut out various diamonds from the paper in no certain order. I love the "Genuine" Elements sticker sheet. It comes with sooooo many different words. I had a hard time deciding what phrases to use on my layouts. It also has two sets of alphabet letters and numbers, uppercase and lowercase.

After adhering the diamond paper I wanted to add some texture so I added the diamond pattern using a stencil and modeling paste. I gave the molding paste color by adding acrylic paint before I spread it over the stencil, and after it was dry I went over it with white PanPastel. All of these products and tools can be picked up at Paper Pals! Molding paste is my new favorite medium! Here is a close-up to show you the dimension that is created when used with a stencil.

On the second layout I created I used a lot of the stickers from the "Genuine" Details 12x12 sticker sheet. I had a lot of fun with this layout, and once again I had a hard time deciding what stickers to use.

Along with the incredible assortment of different stickers on the sheet is a set of alphabet stickers that coordinate with everything. I love the simple font and size of them!

I also created a few cards with this gorgeous paper, stickers, and Bo Bunny's Denim Blue Lace.

I designed this card with a pull-out "wallet" that can hold a gift card.

This is the first time I had worked with Authentique products. The paper is very good quality and nice to work with, but don't take my word for it. Head into Paper Pals and try it out for yourself!

Bo Bunny Serenade Line

 Bo Bunny is turning out some gorgeous designs! I was given the Bo Bunny Serenade line to work with last month and I loved it from the moment I laid my hot little hands on it! The colors are so rich and vibrant. I had a hundred ideas running through my head for what I could do with this paper, stickers, and buttons.

I really liked the cutouts sheet with predesigned journaling boxes and phrases. That made it really easy on these layouts. I cut one of the journaling boxes in half and was able to use it on two layouts. I also loved the buttons!

This layout is an 8x8 I created to put in my mom's album. I make her 5-6 layouts each holiday. It really cuts out the hassle of trying to figure out what to get her. She loves new pages for her album more than anything I could ever buy her at the store.

I used the sticker sheet on both of these cards, as well as more of the Bo Bunny buttons!

I made these gift containers from a repurposed soup can (spaghetti if you're wondering) and a plastic drink container. This is my plan for my coworkers' and teacher Christmas gifts this year. Some will be filled with peanut butter popcorn and others with corner bookmarks, like the ones shown in this picture. The bookmarks are a great project to use up all those small scraps of paper we always have leftover, and they're super easy so it's a good project for the kids.

Miss Caroline (by My Mind's Eye) - Fun Fun Fun!!!

This is such a fun line! The colors and patterns have a kind of nostalgic feel to them, but are versatile enough that they can be used for many types of layouts. I chose to use them for two fun carnival ride layouts.

A new technique I tried on this layout was creating the string of flags at the bottom of the page. This is a pretty popular look right now, but I hadn't tried it before.  I just cut out small squares and folded them diagonally in half running a string down the middle then glueing them closed.

I was trying to mimic the lights of the ride on this layout by glueing rhinestones down in lines then coloring them with copic markers. They look dull in the picture, but in person the colors are brighter.

This mini 3x3 inch squash book was so easy to make and I love how it turned out! I also absolutely LOVE the gray/teal color combo of these papers and embellishments! I made this using some old pictures of my mom and her siblings. She's going to love it! I used my Tim Holtz die to cut out the flower and my nestabilities dies for the photos and mats. I left lots of room for journaling too!

Lastly, since school is coming to end, I thought I'd make a card that any teacher would love to get. This one is pretty simple, but has a fun twist with how it opens, and the fun notepaper look of the Dilly Dally line lent itself perfectly to this purpose. Now that I look at the pictures of this card, I think a pocket for a coffee gift card would fit just perfectly inside!

You are going to fall in love with this line just like I did! You really can't go wrong with My Mind's Eye, and Paper Pals always has the MME collections on the spinning racks in the back.

October Afternoon-- Farmhouse

This line conjured up memories and numerous ideas for scrapping pages!

Oh, the joy it brought me to scrap these photos. One page of my childhood home (a farmhouse)... The colors in the vintage photos just blended so nicely with the page elements and pattern papers. This one is my favorite!

And a layout with a special couple in our family. The memories of staying with them bring back great feelings! The lace/ribbon inspired a long "cluster" of elements on this page.

 

The pattern papers truly inspired several cards too.

The chipboard elements that come with this line are simply adorable! What a great product line.

Amy Tangerine from American Crafts

Hey all, I recently had the chance to play with some really fun new papers from American Crafts-- their Amy Tangerine line!

It's fun, versatile and appeals to all kinds of hobbies and pleasures. Quirky and bright!

There were a few different layouts I created with the papers, and they're all very different.

The first was a feature of me-- a photo I took on my 37th birthday. Only thing missing: the letter I want to write to myself and tuck among the layers for posterity. My favorite part is the "banner" of pieces I cut from a pattern page and strung with bakers twine! I also used Martha Stewart fringe scissors to cut some fringe on the fabric paper.

My daughter dressed up for a rock and roll birthday party, and was a great model for me before she headed to the party. I think it will be fun for her to look back on the crazy outfit and hair she donned that day. I used little frames from a pattern page to create my visual triangle with the quirky objects in this line.

And lastly, my family layout. It's a recent photo of me with my siblings... and all our children. Wow. What a crazy fun crew! The matching dimensional stickers worked great for this layout.

Lastly, I used scraps to make simple cards. The bright colors made them fun to make for multiple occasions.

My Minds Eye Lost and Found TWO

I was so excited to see the color options for the new Lost and Found Two line... they had several options, but I knew this one was PERFECT for the photos I needed to scrap.When I was taking a photography class in the spring, I had my daughter pose for a great little photo shoot with her and knew I'd love to scrap some photos from the day. Isn't she just adorable?

 This second layout using the MME line features two photos in the same place but at different times. I'd like to make more pages by featuring "now and then" photos in them.

The chipboard pieces were great for the cards especially! These cards came together simply and turned out pretty cute.

Lost & Found Christmas by My Mind's Eye

I got to work with one of the fabulous new lines by My Mind's Eye; Lost & Found Christmas. This paper is gorgeous! I don't usually enjoy scrapbooking Christmas (I know, I'm crazy), but this line makes it easy and really inspired me. I have four projects to share.

The first one is this layout.

I made two types of flowers; paper flowers (good tutorial here) and embossed ribbon flowers.  For the ribbon flowers I used a product called Ribbon Stiff (now being carried by Paper Pals). You paint it onto ribbon, let it dry, then you can punch your ribbon, cut it into any shape without fraying, and even use it in your die cutting machine or Cricut. I cut these out with my Cricut then used an embossing folder to emboss a polkadot design into them. *Note: I saw that Karen is offering a closs on different flowers. My next project is this little matchbook type mini album. It's so simple and fun to make!

I also made two cards. This first one is a simple greeting card.

This next card was designed to hold a gift card inside.
