My Minds Eye and Graphic 45

I have completed some of my favorite projects... and I'm finally remembering to share them with you! I hope they inspire you to CREATE in some way.

Have you ever used Graphic 45 products? They're colorful and creative! And they help you reminisce days long gone. I had a family photo of my great grandparents' family by a lake, and the "On the Boardwalk" paper fit it perfectly. I spent many hours on this layout... it stretched me creatively and I'm really happy with the results. Win, win!

I also created a card with Graphic 45 here:

This shows you that you can use their products even if you don't want an obviously vintage look and feel to your projects.

And, then with the My Minds Eye  Meadowlark Dawn line, I found a photo I've been wanting to scrap for a long time. The line is so elegant that I knew this photo from my brother's wedding would be perfect.

I also used some of the papers, embellishments, ribbons and flocked chipboard letters from My Mind's Eye's Lush line. Red Stickles helped add a bit more bling. And, topped it off with a couple of unique chipboard buttons from former DT member London Tierney.

So, does anything from these inspire you to create? If so, what do you want to do?

Meadowlark

I had no idea how I would tell the story of Lonely Tree until I received this new paper from My Mind's Eye. Meadowlark sports a nature theme along with the elegance of a black and white palette in classic patterns. I love how the owl is looking over at the tree; at first look I thought he might be a little busy, but now I think he adds the perfect balance. I also like how my journaling runs right into the journaled pattern of the paper and around the fern. I just added a few buttons and edged each piece with a gold paint dauber to complete this fast monochromatic layout.

All these little pictures are just the thumbprints that came with my developed photos. The polka dot border is a punch-out from the Meadowlark die-cut sheet, which included so many great journaling spots and embellishments. The little red flower is also from that same die-cut sheet; I colored it in with copic markers. I cut the title from white bazzill on my Slice machine and then inked each letter. I sewed around the photos to create a collage and then added some buttons and a handmade tag.

These cards came together in minutes. I love how adding the red ribbon, ink, and gems to the thank you card made it even more classy.

Again, I added gold paint to the edges of the card on the left and colored the bird on the card on the right with copic markers and added a gemstone for the eye. The words and tags were also part of the die-cut sheet.

I have to say that, for someone who prefers working with bold color, I really enjoyed the neutrality and timeless feeling of this paper line.

So Sophie Collection --- Everyday Cards

These cards were created using patterned paper from the My Minds Eye "So Sophie" collection.  On the Take Time to Cherish ...  card I used a Hero Arts stamp that is sold at Paper Pals.  I stamped the words directly onto the journaling card.  With the Forever Friends card I used the fun pom-pom ribbon using glue dots to hold the pom-poms in place.  To create the 'dry stitch' look I used a punch tool and using a guide, evenly punched holes to create borders.  The Journaling Tag & flower are just a small part of the embellishments available in this collection.

Vintage Blue

Do I even need to say that I loved this line by We R Memory Keepers? The beautiful palette of greens and oranges and blues and the whimsical design made creating with this line really fun.

My excellent photographer hubby took this shot of the blooming dogwoods in Hell's Canyon early this spring. I merely added my own title and journaling block, punched out some butterflies, cut a title strip from the pre-printed paper, and finished it off with a button. Voila! So cute!

From these pictures, I know you're never going to believe that I don't get to see the kit before I design with it, but it's true! We just happen to have a parakeet almost exactly the same as the one on this paper. I took these pictures in February and the moment I browsed through the design kit I knew they were the ones. The scalloped edging and the bird title came from the great Vintage Blue sticker sheet. I made my journaling block with my Slice machine and added some ribbon and staples to finish the layout.

Fast, easy, and cute cards made with the Vintage Blue sticker sheet. I think I'll be picking up some more of this great line from We R Memory Keepers; such great colors and designs for spring and summer.

So Sophie from My Mind's Eye and Just Add Butter from My Little Shoebox

This line from My Mind's Eye is called So Sophie. "Open Your Heart"Berry Stem Paper, Royal Paper, Graceful Journaling Card and Graceful "Sweet Chic"Frame (transparency). I love the way these papers look together. Fancy and pretty. This page shows both sides of the paper. I like doing this because I usually can't decide which side is better. I sewed them together like two pieces of fabric then scored the paper so it would fold open. After I did this I realized I probably could have just folded one edge over because you really can't see the stitching. I did stitch around the border of the pattern paper. I embroidered around the journal tag and the twig. The transparency I attached with brads. I love the way it frames the photo. I cut the frame for this one out on the Cricut. I embroidered around the edges then punched some holes and filled them with glass beads. Messy. Again I am showing both sides of this beautiful paper. The original tag said "Happy for you". I used the "for you"on a card. Sorry this is a bad photo. I was trying to finish my pages before leaving for Canada so this is one of those midnight photos. This is the Just Add Butter line from My Little Shoebox. Shawna gave me a ton of goodies so I got a lot done with this. The Just Add Butter-Diecut Cardstock is packed with journalling tags, two borders and 4 corners. The Granny's Apron and Half a Cup paper is double sided. Another layout using the My Little Shoebox paper. The blue paper on the bottom left is the other side of the paper with the houses and cupcakes on it. This paper is perfect for kitchen pictures. I just cut out the images from the paper and used them as die cuts. Cards made with my scraps from So Sophie and Just Add Butter paper.

Bo-Bunny Jazmyne

Shawna took this picture of me while we were having fun at our winter retreat, and when I saw the new Jazmyne line, I knew that picture and paper would make a perfect pair. Not only are the colors of this line some of my favorites, but the hues are so rich and deep with just enough bling to make a girl happy. I keep thinking about this paper being used to a cover an art journal or a special photo album gift of some sort. I think it's the perfect choice for upcoming Mother's Day projects.

A couple of cards that were quick to put together, but still so elegant and beautiful.
I'm definitely planning on keeping a little stock of this paper at home.

"My Minds Eye" So Sophie Collection

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!!!!  Loved this collection!!!!  My grandson and daughter had recently visited so being the scrappy Grandma that I am, what did I do (other then cook & love on my grandson alot?) ... I took LOTS! of pictures.  So when I was given these collections to scrap I was excited to get to work.  All papers are part of the So Sophie (My Minds Eye) collection.  On the "Once in a Lifetime" and the "Fresh Air' layouts I used transparencies and various embellishments that are part of the collections.

The first "Once in a Lifetime" was part of the So Sophie Brothers & Sisters Collection.  I used a sketch that Danielle Calhoun had posted on Facebook, Friday April 9, 2010.

The second "Imagine", again, is part of the So Sophie collection.  I liked that I could put one picture on the LO that captured the essence of the patterned paper.

The third "Fresh Air", part of the So Sophie "We are Family & Loop-De-Loop" collection.

The card for a teacher was 'scraplifted' out of the Cards, March 2008, p110 by Cathy Schellenberg.

Chicken Noodle Jillibean Soup. Yum-O!

Jillibean Soup has done it again. Their Chicken Noodle collection is super duper adorable! It's farm-a-licious. And it fits great with photos of my kids on the family farm.

This layout that I created with their papers is my new favorite!

I used raffia and string to create the look of "stubble" at the bottom of the page. The wheat stalk on the right side of the page I hand drew using pens and ColorBox fluid chalk. And to emphasize the cute farm scene on the pattern paper I cut out the barn and tractor/trailer and used dimensional adhesive to literally make it stand out.

Do you have any farm themed photos or projects where you could use this adorable paper?
