I have never used chipboard.
I know, right? How odd. That embarrassment and sore spot on my scrapbooking has been remedied. I put together some pages and two cards using Creative Imagination's Baby Bella line. In my stack of photos left to be scrapped, I had one of my mom and Birdy when she was just tiny...something like 2 weeks old. It fit really well with the paper. I found some great peach lace ribbon at PP that matched the paper and used it to mat the photo, which turned out to be one of my favorite elements from this set:
This other layout is from a photo session we had with some of the other babies in the family. I popped out some of the cute animals to give the page a little more dimension: My other confession is that I love the Fiskars Threading Water punch, and I got another chance to use it on one of the cards: I did wish that this paper came out a little earlier, because it would have made some great birth announcements. I also realized that I am a smidgen more behind in her baby album that I would like...as in, nearly a year with some photos.
How are you all doing with your kids' baby books? Also, when did you stop the baby book? Having never done this baby book thing, I'm curious.

Heather! These turned out just GREAT! You did a great job of incorporating the objects on the patterned paper in really cohesive ways. Ric Rac and buttons are so perfect on baby pages.
Can't wait to see more from you!
I also love the Fiskars threading water punch! Your layouts and cards turned out great! Would never had known you had not worked with chipboard before; you used it is some very creative ways.
I also really liked how you popped up the photo with the lace behind it, almost gives it a shadow box feel in person.
Heather... thanks for being so creative, and showing off some of your scrapping and cards. I love the lace idea- I have ribbon and lace but never sure what to do with it. this is a great idea.
As for the baby book. I made one of my bug for the first year that was just her. Now they will be "family albums"- as I just don't have time to do 2 albums at a time.

These are all so cute!
I saw your babys name and realized that I read your blog! What a small world. Not sure how I found it. Love you work, have fun on the team!
You read my blog?! I haven't been this flattered in a long time. You made my day, Malinda. Keep on rockin'.
I love how you used the shapes and cute out the animals to give depth. Never used chipboard...? That should be a crime!!!! It's so fun, I think You will quickly grow to love it. I think the cards are my fav. I am terrible at making them and yours just look so flawless!
The lace on that layout is awesome!!! I love that idea and I love the way you added the pop dots to make it dimensional. Great job!
The Rookie (for both the PPDT and chipboard) rocked it! All of the little touches everyone has mentioned: things popped, lace, focus on the photo...all so great!
Super duper job, friend!
