New Ooh La La from My Minds Eye

I used the "backside" of " We are memory keepers/ heart attack" paper that is at paper pals for the Sunflower lay-out. I loved the bright yellow with the grungy white edging, it is perfect for summer! I like to do that a lot, I call it "backsiding", using the back of a lot of the patterned paper is an excellent way to give a little oomph to the background without over-doing it. I used the backside of the "My Minds Eye, breaking free" series for the "someone to watch over me " lay-out. It was perfect with the "My Minds Eye, Ooh La La" series of paper at paper pals which I used in all my lay-outs. This paper was so unbelievably fun! I experimented with squares and small rectangles and recycled some lay-out ideas in albums past. It was fun mixing different patterns and colors in a way that didn't overwhelm the page. This is such a cheerful, fun and versatile paper!
Also, I would like to answer the design team challenge about my favorite scrapbooking products and I think these lay-outs, like most of my lay-outs, answer this. I love clocks, angel wings and brads. I like anything I can use with them. I like Heidi Swapp ghost clocks and wings and Tim Holtz wonderful little metal arrows I use with all my clocks. I also love stars, star chipboard, star brads, ghost stars, you name it. Those are my favorite embelishments! I am always sneaking them on stuff!
I had so much fun with this "My Minds Eye, Ooh La La" paper and the super nifty embelishment sheet. I know you will love it too!
Keep Scrap booking!
love, Deb.

New Karen Foster

I haven't been taking lots of photos lately, so it's been difficult to scrap with the same old photos. This time around, I used the Karen Foster Mother's day paper and some basic Bazzill cardstock. For the card I also added some ribbon and layered my own buttons over it. I loved the coral color of the paper with the warm golden yellow.

Next, I created a layout background with aqua bazzill cardstock, and strips of book paper. i have old books laying about specifically to tear pages out of, that way I don't ruin anything I want to read or hang onto. I glued several random strips down then layered white gesso on top. I repeated this until I felt I had enough paper layered on there. Then I free-hand cut several hearts out of the karen fosters paper. I was inspired by the photo with the hearts in the mason jar and wanted my own pieces to be imperfect and randomly cut. The photos I used were from DeviantArt, not my own!

I love this soft, summery, light patterned paper from Karen Foster at paper pals . It's lightweight so it is easy to tear or crease or stick on. There are lots of soft words that can be cut out and used and its so pretty. It is also "soft" enough to use as background. Also the stickers from Karen Foster are adorable. I had a lot of fun using these "happenen"stickers to embelish my lay-outs. It was so fun! I added other ribbon and embelishments that are also to be found at Paper Pals. I have not scrapped for a while and I was so glad for this opportunity to find my creative groove again! Happy scrapbooking! love, Deb.

Picnic Time with Karen Foster Design

Anyone want to join us for a picnic?

These bright pattern papers and cardstock stickers from Karen Foster Design were as juicy and tantalizing as watermelon in summertime! I've had so much fun creating with them.

I'm working on a couple more layouts, but I have this one finished to show you. (Visit the store next week to see the additional pages I'm working on!)

The chipboard stickers were inspiration for my page title and design. The "cute" ants inspired me to use my limited drawing skills and make little marching ant lines across the layout. I also used some kraft paper to create a few buttons to correspond with the fun scalloped kraft paper journaling tag and the cardboard in a design triangle.

I also created a couple of cards that include little handmade watermelon embellishment and a hand painted sun. I usually use pattern paper to inspire simple hand created accents to add a real personal touch to my projects.

Get some of these fun papers for yourself at the store!
